Pyracantha sp. Bonsai 10 years. Firethorn. Kengai. It is a typical Mediterranean tree that lives better outdoors because it needs sun and cold to produce fruits. Evergreen. Much appreciated for its white flowers in spring and its colourful fruits in autumn.
Location: It can be placed outdoors throughout the year and exposed to full sun during flowering. In summer, it can be placed in semi-shade. Resists cold, but must be protected from frost.
Watering: Needs enough moisture. It is recommended not to wet the flowers when watering.
Curiosities: Due to its strong spines, Pyracantha has been used as an impenetrable hedge. We can find Pyracanthas planted in the median strips of the roads, because if a car hits them, it stops without crossing to the other side.
Dimensions in centimetres approx. (width x depth x height): 29 x 28 x 31
Note: The shape and measurements of the bonsais are approximate. The pot is included on the dimensions. The colour and shape of the pot may vary from that of the photo. A bonsai is a living being, so the vegetative state of the plant changes according to the season. The images that appear are non-binding illustrative pictures.
