Buxus harlandii. Bonsai 19 years. Harland boxwood. The trees classified as indoor are trees that mostly come from tropical climates and that, therefore, do not like low temperatures. We must place them inside the houses, always close to a source of natural light. Evergreen tree or bush. Slow growth.
Valued as a bonsai for its trunk and small leaves.
Location: In areas with a Mediterranean climate, it can live outdoors during the summer, and during winter it must be protected from the cold. In colder areas, it should be kept the whole year inside a greenhouse.
Watering: Abundantly during summer and in moderation during winter.
Sensitive to puddles.
Curiosities: The buxus harlandii grows well in shade, which makes it ideal for gardens with little direct sunlight. It does not require a lot of maintenance, water or fertiliser to grow. It is often used in Japanese-style gardens, as it is native from Japan and has a traditional and minimalist look.
Dimensions in centimetres approx. (width x depth x height): 39 x 23 x 50 cm
Note: The shape and measurements of the bonsais are approximate. The pot is included on the dimensions. The colour and shape of the pot may vary from that of the photo. A bonsai is a living being, so the vegetative state of the plant changes according to the season. The images that appear are non-binding illustrative pictures.
