The Zelkova is appreciated for the size and characteristic shape of its leaves, as well as for the aged appearance of its bark, which peels. It stands out for its resistance. As a curiosity, in the right climate, it can be placed outdoors all year round, becoming a deciduous bonsai that sprouts with the arrival of spring.
Location: Indoors, near a source of natural light and away from heat or cold currents. In areas with a Mediterranean climate, it could be placed outdoors all year round, protected from frost and the intense sun.
Watering: Abundant in summer and moderate in spring.
Curiosities: Elm wood is very strong when submerged, so it is used for the manufacture of ships, bridges, dams and carpentry in general.

Mistral Bonsai TERRABONSAI. Special soil for bonsai, that will satisfy its needs of water and nutrients, stimulating the development of roots and its vigour in general. Other substrates can also be used, such as a mixture of 70% Akadama + 30% Kiryuzuna, which promotes growth, although it will require more frequent watering.
