Pyracantha angustifolia. Bonsai 10 years. Firethorn. Outdoor bonsai, typical of the Mediterranean. Very appreciated for its white flowers in spring and its green fruits, which turn orange in autumn. It needs both sun and cold to produce fruit.
Location: Because of its strong thorns, Pyracantha is used to form impenetrable shrubs. For example, Pyracantha can be found on motorways to prevent cars from passing in the other direction.
Watering: It needs a lot of humidity. Do not wet the flowers when watering the bonsai.
Curiosities: Place outdoors with direct sun all year round. Protect from extreme heat in summer by placing it in semi-shade. It withstands well the cold, but should be protected from frost.
Dimensions in centimetres approx. (width x depth x height): 33 x 27 x 36
Note: The shape and measurements of the bonsais are approximate. The pot is included on the dimensions. The colour and shape of the pot may vary from that of the photo. A bonsai is a living being, so the vegetative state of the plant changes according to the season. The images that appear are non-binding illustrative pictures.
