Juniperus Chinensis Itoigawa, also called Chinese Juniper Itoigawa, is a small variety of juniper from China that is very popular in the bonsai world. It differs from the common Chinese juniper in its slower growth and its fine, soft, light green foliage. The name comes from the mountainous region near the Japanese city of Itoigawa, where it originated.
Location: Juniper fruits are used in a wide range of culinary dishes. It is also known for being the main flavoring for gin.
Watering: Abundant in summer and in moderation in winter. This tree doesn’t like pools and appreciates it if you pulverize the leaves with water.
Curiosities: Exterior, exposed to the sun the whole year.
