Location: For its full brightness, it should be placed in a well-lighted location, next to a window, at a maximum distance of about 50 cm. If it is placed outdoor, in hot weather, protect it during the strong sunlight hours of the by placing it in semi-shade.
Watering: Watering needs are moderate. Water when the first 1.5 cm of soil starts to dry out. It does not withstand waterlogging, so the soil must be sufficiently draining.
Curiosities: It is commonly used as a hedge, especially for covering spaces and even in terrace pots.
Dimensions in centimetres approx. (width x depth x height): 22 x 20 x 28

Fertiliser
From spring to mid-autumn with organo-mineral fertiliser Hiryo-Gold or the fast-acting fertiliser Nutribonsai.
Repotting
Repot every 2 or 3 years, at the beginning of spring, just before budding begins. After repotting, it is recommended to add Mistral Bonsai's VITABONSAI invigorating to the irrigation water to speed up the tree's recovery.
Soil
Terrabonsai. Special soil for bonsai, which satisfies their water and nutrient needs, promoting roots development and general vigour. Other soils can also be used, such as a mixture of 60% Kiryuzuna + 40% Akadama, which promotes growth, although it will require more frequent watering.
Pruning
Pruning should be done in late winter, if you wish to make structural changes to the bonsai.
Pinching
Throughout the growing season, pinch out the new outer shoots to achieve a denser canopy, to allow aeration and allow light to enter the branches and to maintain the shape of the bonsai.
Wiring
Due to its morphological characteristics, it is not a bonsai that is usually wired. However, if this is done, the best time is just before spring budding.
